This has been me for the past 30 years. THE TAX ACCOUNTANT…

The one that everyone can rely on for advice, etc. I’ve been doing my friends’ taxes since high school. It’s what made me decide to major in accounting in college. Well, I have evolved. Hopefully, this will be the last year that I will be stressed during tax season. It’s too much! People think that peak tax season is the only time that I’m busy. Wrong!!! An accountant is always busy on and off peak times. If we’re not doing our clients’ taxes, then we’re organizing their finances. There’s other things than just being a tax accountant. That’s just my specialty. There’s also auditing, cost budgeting, and the daily grind of keeping records for a client. This is all year around. So for those who think otherwise. Think again.

One thing that I really enjoy is making “To-Do” list. Why? Because it makes me feel like I’m accomplishing something. I read an article about making these lists and found that it’s also another form of procrastination. That’s something I definitely have issues with. When I get overwhelmed, I revert to making “To-Do” list. Ain’t nothing better for me than to have something in front of me like a list to check off to say that I completed something. What the article also pinpointed was that a task list is only a tool. Making a task list isn’t actually doing the work that needs to be done. DOING the tasks on the list is the work. Once I fully read this article, it opened my eyes to what I was actually doing when I’m making my lists. I’m procrastinating.

Ugh!!! So whenever I get into that mode, I know that I have to revamp and remember a post I made many moons ago. And think of the acronym that I explained in the post link below… E.F.F.O.R.T

Dealing with Stress – Financial Fatigue
